Erb Family Scholarships
Jim and Helen Erb believe strongly in the value of higher education. That is why they have established the Erb Family Scholarship for the Department of Risk Management and Insurance at Florida State University, his Alma Mater. Jim is a member of the Doak S. Campbell Society of the Presidents Club at the FSU_Foundation.
Plant High principal, Rob Nelson, congratulates Kevin Beckwith on winning the 2010 Erb Family Scholarship. Each year the Erb Family awards a scholarship to a Plant High Senior. Kevin was chosen for this year's scholarship because of his commitment to making a difference. Kevin has committed to playing football as a wide receiver at Mount Union College in Ohio. From his freshman year to his senior year in high school Kevin realized that the status quo would not get him to college. He turned his grades around and has been a leader on the 2010 State Champion Plant High Panthers football team. Both his mom and his dad are especially proud of their son going to college at Mount Union. In addition to Kevin's scholarship, The Erb Family Scholarship was awarded again to last year's award winner Steven Haigler. Steven is studying engineering at the University of Florida.
Plant High principal, Rob Nelson, congratulates Steven Haigler on winning the 2009 Erb Family Scholarship. Each year the Erb Family awards scholarships to a Plant High Senior. Steven lost his mother to cancer earlier this year. His determination and academic achievement are allowing him to pursue an Engineering Degree at the University of Florida.
